Because PRP therapy is non-invasive, nearly everyone is a good candidate for this hair restoration treatment. During your initial consultation, we will help you determine if this treatment is a good fit for you. Generally, PRP hair treatment is more likely to be effective if it is done during the early stages of hair loss. This is because PRP treatment cannot regrow hair in areas that are completely bald or lacking any hair at all. In other words, PRP restoration is more likely to produce desirable results if there are detectable hair follicles. These conditions often exist in areas with weak hair growth where hair is visibly thinner than what’s growing in surrounding areas.
Another common requirement for PRP therapy for any purpose is needing to be in generally good health. A PRP hair restoration method may not be right for you if you are on blood thinners, smoke heavily or have a history of excessive alcohol use. Other conditions that may include platelet disorders, infections and chronic diseases. If you take blood-thinning medications, you may also be advised to temporarily stop taking them to reduce your risk of experiencing bleeding problems.
